Citizen Personal Number – A New Era for Transactions with the Public Sector

The Citizen Personal Number (CPN) replaces the Tax Identification Number (AFM) and Social Security Number (AMKA), providing a single number for all transactions with public services. The related platform for registration opens on Tuesday, June 3.

🔹 What it is:
A unique number assigned to every citizen from birth, used in all administrative procedures, including:

• Transactions with the Tax Office, EFKA, Health, Education

• Declarations, applications, benefits

• Digital services on gov.gr

🔹 What changes:

• AFM & AMKA are gradually phased out

• Digital services will become simpler and faster

• Security and personal data protection are enhanced
